Ductile Iron Straight Through Type Diaphragm Valve

Straight type diaphragm valves, also known as membrane valves, are a type of valve that uses a flexible diaphragm to control fluid flow. By pressing the diaphragm against the valve seat, the valve can block, regulate, or allow fluid passage.

The ductile iron straight through type diaphragm valve, when open, lifts the diaphragm to enable smooth fluid flow in any direction. When closed, the diaphragm forms a tight seal, ensuring complete shut-off even in the presence of grit or fibers within the pipeline.

Unlike weir-type diaphragm valves, this design requires a more elastic diaphragm, which limits the range of available diaphragm materials. High-quality through-type diaphragm valves compliant with BS 5156 and MSS SP-88 standards are provided, featuring durable DI ductile iron valve body.

The valve bodies are lined with rubber or fluoropolymer materials to enhance chemical corrosion resistance and are optimized for performance.

    The straight-through diaphragm valve is characterized by a full-bore, unobstructed flow path that minimizes pressure drop and enables bidirectional operation. Its self-draining, flat-body design with rubber lining makes it particularly effective for handling abrasive slurries, viscous fluids, powders, and aggressive chemicals where particulate buildup is a concern. Unlike weir-type designs, it provides superior handling of solids and fibrous media. The operational requirement for an extended diaphragm stroke restricts material selection to flexible elastomers, which increases diaphragm wear and limits high-temperature applicability. This configuration is specifically engineered for demanding services in mining, wastewater treatment, and pulp and paper processing.
