Full Rubber Lined Disc Butterfly Valve, Lug Type, Worm Gear

Rubber-lined centreline butterfly valves represent a versatile valve type characterised by simple construction, reliable sealing, low cost, and convenient operation. Butterfly valves are most suitable for shutting off non-corrosive liquid media (particularly water) at ambient temperatures, low pressures, and large diameters.

The defining characteristic of the rubber-lined disc butterfly valve lies in its disc (butterfly plate) surface being lined with elastic materials such as rubber, whilst the valve stem axis is positioned at the intersection of the butterfly plate centreline and the valve passage centreline (i.e., a ‘coaxial’ structure).

The rubber lining (commonly nitrile rubber NBR, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber EPDM, fluorocarbon rubber FKM, etc.) isolates the metal valve disc from the medium, making it suitable for handling various corrosive media such as potable water, seawater, weak acids, and weak alkalis.

Compared to gate valves, globe valves and the like, butterfly valves feature a simpler structure, compact size, lighter weight, reduced installation space requirements, and ease of maintenance.

Pressure and temperature limitations: Due to the inherent properties of the rubber lining material, these fittings are generally suitable for medium to low pressure applications (commonly PN10/16/25) and ambient temperature conditions (depending on the rubber type, typically ranging from -20°C to below 120°C).
