The Gate Valve (Flanged, Rubber Seated, AS2129 E) is a resilient-seated gate valve with a rotating non-rising stem, designed to close clockwise. Suitable for drinking water and neutral liquids up to 70°C, it ensures reliable shut-off with its rubber-seated construction.

For sizes DN400 to DN600, the valve can be operated manually via handwheel or gearbox, or with an electric actuator. For DN800, operation must be through a gearbox or an actuator capable of handling axial thrust loads, ensuring durability in demanding installations. This valve is widely used in water supply and neutral fluid systems where tight sealing and robust performance are essential.

What is a gate valve? +
A gate valve is a linear-motion valve designed to start or stop fluid flow (liquids or gases) in a pipeline. It operates in either a fully open or fully closed position and is not intended for throttling or flow regulation—unlike globe valves or ball valves, which are better suited for modulating flow rates.
What materials are available for NRS gate valves? +
They are commonly available in ductile iron, cast iron, with seat options like EPDM or NBR depending on the application.
What are the advantages of NRS gate valves? +
Non‑rising stem (NRS) gate valves are ideal for tight spaces since the stem does not move vertically. They protect stem threads from corrosion and reduce packing wear, ensuring longer service life. Most models include an external position indicator, making them a durable choice for buried or confined installations.
Which way do you turn a gate valve to open it? +
To open a gate valve, you typically turn the valve handle or operating mechanism in a counterclockwise direction (to the left). This action raises the internal gate or wedge to create an unobstructed pathway for fluid flow. Conversely, turning the handle in a clockwise direction (to the right) closes the valve by lowering the gate, obstructing the flow and sealing the passage.
Is this gate valve suitable for use on water? +
Yes, gate valves are highly suitable for water applications. They are commonly used in water treatment, irrigation, cooling water systems, and distribution pipelines due to their rugged cast iron or ductile iron construction, positive wedge‑type sealing that ensures zero leakage in both directions, and a full‑bore passage that minimizes pressure loss when fully open.
